THE PLANS
The development of Oxhey Activity Park is now complete and provides state-of-the-art sport and leisure facilities. The site previously contained a Gaelic Football Pitch, along with full size football pitch, tennis courts and the Irish Centre but all previous uses ceased as a result of the new road serving Watford Riverwell– completed in 2016.

Watford Borough Council developed the site to be used to provide sporting infrastructure in line with their aspiration that Watford should be a town in which participation in sport increases for everyone and there is a thriving and vibrant sporting infrastructure.
Extensive consultation on the plans were carried out with stakeholders and the wider public, and the plans reflect this accordingly.
The development provides a café with a riverside terrace, toilets with Changing Places services, a toddler and junior play area, improving walking and cycling routes through the park including disabled access, recreation facilities for skateboarding, scooters, blading, mountain bikes & BMX. It will also see a creation of wetland areas in the park and improvements to the River Colne corridor.
